The project
CECarbon is a platform that allows you to calculate greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and energy consumption related to the construction of a building, taking into account the life cycle of the work's inputs, from its exploration to the moment of its completion. use in the construction phase.
Our team was hired to create the platform's digital experience, including its visual identity and usability and has, over the years, improved this experience and launched new features to keep it attractive and current.
In 2022, in recognition of the innovative work developed, this platform won 1st place in the CBIC Innovation and Sustainability Award, in the Production Management and R&D category.
Why was CECarbon created?
2020 was the year in which the average concentration of CO2 broke records, measuring 416.21 parts per million (ppm), according to the most recent data from the United States National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
It was in this scenario that CECarbon - Calculator of energy consumption and carbon emissions for buildings - was created, offering an accessible platform to measure environmental impacts and contribute to the identification of risks and opportunities in the civil construction segment.
Relevance of the project
Democratizing access to carbon and energy expenditure and consumption data for small and large projects is one of CECarbon's positive impacts.
Furthermore, the tool aims to contribute to climate and energy management in the construction sector, through the standardization of consistent metrics. Its continued use will allow the creation of relevant indicators for the country, in addition to enabling better choices of materials, based on the results presented.
